Geneva, Switzerland, July 12, 2018: ConnectedApart, the world’s first platform dedicated to helping people stay connected with the children they love when they’re apart, launched today. While hundreds of millions of people around the world spend time apart from the children they love every year, until now no dedicated resource has existed to help them stay connected with the children they love.
Jared Rigg, ConnectedApart’s founder, has spent over half his life away from the children he loves, including as a management consultant travelling the globe and as an officer with the United Nations flying in and out of war-torn countries. “I’ve experienced both the joy and the heartache of trying to stay connected with the children I love when apart – and I’ve seen moms, dads, older siblings, uncles, aunties, grandparents and more go through the same – all in the absence of a one-stop shop to assist” says Rigg. So, in the hope of helping others, Jared founded ConnectedApart.
ConnectedApart offers individuals and families a range of free products and services to suit their personal experience of being apart and to stay connected with the children they love in their own special way. ConnectedApart also supports businesses and other organizations in getting the best from their respective workforces, with solutions to help their personnel stay connected with the children they love while they’re on business travel or longer-term deployments. As noted in now long-standing research, “children help to emotionally sustain employees while they are travelling”. As Rigg explains “helping travelling or deployed personnel stay connected with the children they love is, quite simply, good for business. Its really not rocket science”.

More and more businesses and other organizations are implementing employee wellness and wellbeing initiatives. Why? Because they enhance workforce productivity, strengthen the organization’s bottom line and maximise stakeholder value, while also attracting and retaining the best possible talent (for more, read the ‘Related Articles’ below, or visit ConnectedApart’s Business Center). Happy, healthy employees are more effective and deliver greater results. Its not rocket science.
While official travel might sound like a glamorous bonus to some, for frequent travellers and deployed personnel, it’s often not. Instead, official travel can fast become a considerable source of personal anguish and job dissatisfaction. In turn, on-the-job performance suffers and results decline. While, as one study highlights (read more), there are a number of contributing factors, for a vast majority of these hard working, dedicated professionals, one of the largest stressors is trying to keep in touch with family, in particular the children they love. So much so that before the business objective, the mission or the trip, staying connected with the children they love becomes the primary consideration of travelling or deployed personnel.
Its not hard to understand, then, that helping travelling or deployed personnel stay connected with the children they love is good for business. But don’t take ConnectedApart’s word for it: the research is out – it really does work! As one study recently noted, “children help to emotionally sustain employees while on business trips” (read more). In layman’s terms, staying connected to the children they love makes travelling or deployed personnel happier and, as noted above with respect to health and wellness programmes above, happy, healthy employees are more effective and deliver greater results.
So what do businesses and other organizations need to do specifically? On the basis of its unique APART Model, ConnectedApart can help. To discuss options, contact ConnectedApart’s founder, Jared Rigg, via contact@connectedapart.com.
